Frederic Astier
Head of Marketing, Nokia Siemens Networks
Frederic has responsibilities for Nokia Siemens Networks’ overall Marketing activities, in all the regions and across the entire portfolio of products and services.
Frederic was previously a management team member of the Vodafone Customer Business Team at Nokia Siemens Networks. His responsibilities included Consulting, Applications, Hosting and Service Enablers – focusing on integrated business solutions and service deals across Vodafone’s global footprint of operating companies.
Prior to joining Nokia in 2005, Frederic was a management consultant at Accenture – with several positions held in Strategy, Business Consulting and the Market Making Group. Frederic has been working with leading blue-chip companies across the telecommunications industry (Fixed, Mobile, Equipment and Media/Entertainment) and has contributed to various Thought Leadership Programs in the industry.
Frederic has earned an MBA in Marketing at Wharton in the United States and BBA in International Marketing in Paris, France

Dirk Waasen
Editor in Chief, Connect
Dirk Waasen, 44, possesses more than 17 years of experience in journalism. After studying economics at Augsburg University he became an editor, working for a variety of consumer electronics magazines. In 2002 he joined connect, Europe’s largest magazine for telecommunications, as editor in chief. Currently, connect has a certified monthly circulation of more than 120 000 copies (IVW 3/08); each issue reaches 570 000 readers (AWA 08).

Miguel Arranz
Head of 2G Products, Vodafone Group Plc
Miguel Arranz was appointed into the role of Head of 2G Product within Vodafone Group in July 2007. Miguel is responsible for all aspects of the GSM Radio Product, including capabilities, innovation and lifecycle management.
Prior to his current role, Miguel has gained a wealth of technical and business experience since 1995 through a long series of positions both at local and at international level in VF Group. In 2004 was responsible for the launch of the 3G network in Vodafone Spain, that was recognized as best in class at different internal and external reports. In his last local role was in charge of the transmission network, both in Core and Access. One of the critical challenges of his current function as Head of 2G Product is the energy consumption reduction of radio equipment.
Miguel Arranz gained telecoms qualifications and has coursed an Executive MBA at EOI (Escuela de Organizacion Industrial).

Stephan Scholz
Chief Technology Officer, Nokia Siemens Networks
Stephan Scholz is the Chief Technology Officer of Nokia Siemens Networks – in this capacity responsible for all research activities future technology developments.
He joined Siemens in 1990 after graduating from the Technische Universität München and the Max Planck Institute for High Energy Physics. In Siemens Communications he was heading the Carrier Development worldwide being responsible for all carrier products including softswitches, gateways and next generation applications like IPTV, and their respective network management.
Previous to this, he was Senior Vice President of Wireline Networks Carrier Convergence, Vice President of Product Management at Siemens’ Wireline Networks Carrier Switching Division, and held various sales, marketing and business management positions at Siemens Information Communication Networks, in the United States from 1997 to 1999.
