Tero Ojanperä

Executive Vice President, Services, Nokia

Tero Ojanperä is the head of Nokia's entertainment business, covering music, games, video and TV, online communities and more. As Executive Vice President, Services, Tero is at the forefront of Nokia's push into delivering compelling, interactive entertainment that gives consumers the opportunity to connect with each other to discover and share a wide range of media.

A sought-after industry commentator, author and speaker, he has played a defining role in driving Nokia's evolution as a company since joining in 1990. Tero has held a number of senior roles at Nokia, including Chief Technology Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, as well as head of the Nokia Research Center.

Tero has also been a member of the Nokia Group Executive Board since 2005. He has a master of science degree from the University of Oulu, Finland and a Ph.D degree from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.

The current focal points are Near Field Communication and Mobile TV. Jeremy has previously held several Sales Management and Marketing roles within Nokia.

Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo is the President and CEO of Nokia. Olli-Pekka joined Nokia in 1980 and has held roles of increasing responsibility since that time. On October 1, 2005 Kallasvuo was named President and COO before being appointed to his current position. He holds a masters degree in law from the University of Helsinki. He has been a member of the Group Executive Board of Nokia since 1990.

Gerard Bruen is Head of the B2B Operator Channel, Nokia Markets Sales. He has been with Nokia since 2001 and was head of Operator B2B, Central Europe, before taking responsibility for global B2B sales. Before joining Nokia, Gerard was the Director, Nordic Region for Bridge Information Systems and Head of Sales, Nordic Region for Knight-Ridder Financial. He holds a Bachelor of Physics from King's College, London.

Kirsi Sormunen

Kirsi Sormunen is the Vice President & Head of Environmental activities in Nokia. Her responsibilities include managing the virtual network of environmental managers and specialists in Nokia, driving the development, target setting and implementation of environmental activities across Nokia. Environmental sustainability is a key element in Nokia strategy and fully integrated into our business activities. Environmental issues are managed based on life-cycle thinking and are a part of everything we do - and ultimately make business sense. Our leading position calls for responsibility and Nokia aims at being a leader in environmental performance.

Prior to her present position, Kirsi Sormunen had a long career in Nokia´s finance organization. She started in her career in Nokia in 1982 in Nokia Treasury, and was promoted to Vice President & Corporate Treasurer in 1993. She was responsible for finance in Nokia Telecomminications as SVP, Finance & Control 1993-1999, and based in Irving, Texas the head of finance of Nokia Americas as SVP, FInance & Control 1999-2003. She has represented Nokia in several associations and committees, and is in her current role the Vice Chairman of the Environmental Council of Confederation of Finnish Industry.

Kirsi Sormunen

Vice President, Nokia Location based Services

Michael spent two years at europatweb, the Internet investment vehicle of Groupe Arnault, overseeing all technology investments, including gate5. Prior to this he was with the Boston Consulting Group. He left the company after six years at manager level and a core member of BCG's high-tech practice. He then spent four years with the Lab for Computer Science at MIT, and holds a PhD in Computer Science and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich.

Before joining Nokia in 2006 Michael headed gate5 AG, the former leading supplier of mapping, routing and navigation software and services, for five years. Since the acquisition of gate5 by Nokia, Michael has been heading Location Based Experiences in the Find New Experiences department. Currently he is Vice President of Location Based Services at Nokia gate5.

Executive Vice President, Markets, Nokia

Starting January 1, 2008, Anssi Vanjoki is Executive Vice President of the new Markets unit. In this function Anssi is responsible for sales, marketing, manufacturing and logistics of all Nokia products and services. He is a member of the Nokia Group Executive Board, a position held since 1998.

A highly respected brand and marketing authority, Anssi has been a visionary force in Nokia's efforts to address mobility markets. His work has focused on developing the Nokia brand and the convergence of mobility and the Internet. From 2004, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Multimedia, with overall responsibility for the Nokia Nseries multimedia computer device fleet and Nokia services.

Anssi joined Nokia in 1991 and was named Vice President, Sales, Nokia Mobile Phones, before his promotion in 1994 to Senior Vice President, Nokia Mobile Phones Europe and Africa. In 1998 he was made Executive Vice President, Nokia Mobile Phones Europe and Africa. In addition, in 1999, he took responsibility for Nokia's Digital Convergence Unit and, in 2002, also headed up the Business Unit Management.

Anssi is the chairman of the board of Amer Sports Corporation, and was a member of the Governing Committee of the European Foundation for Quality Management 2001 - 2003. He is a Knight, 1st Class, of the Order of the White Rose of Finland and Commander of the Order of the White Rose of Finland.

Prior to joining Nokia, he held a variety of management positions at the 3M Corporation.

He holds a master's degree in economics from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration.

Executive Director, Symbian Foundation

Lee Williams is the first Executive Director of the Symbian Foundation, nominated on October 20, 2008 by the ten initial board member companies.

Before becoming Executive director, Lee was the head of the S60 Software organization in Nokia's Devices business, responsible for managing, and delivering key Nokia software assets for the companies' products. This included the S60 software platform, related applications and product software for Nokia's S60 based devices and internet based services. Lee was also a member of the Board of Directors of Symbian Limited.

Prior to this he was head of Engineering and Product Development for Be, Inc. Products included the BeOS Operating System, BeIA an Internet Appliances platform and related applications and services. Be was acquired by Palm Computing and he joined as the head of Product Development and Delivery at Palm. Palm OS 4, 5 and smartphone based variants were delivered during his tenure at the company. He also led the Engineering Product Development Group at PalmSource, the software platform company responsible for licensing the Palm OS platform to global consumer electronics and smartphone licensees. After leaving Palm, and before joining Nokia, Lee was the General Manager of the Mobility Software Division for Symbol Technologies, before it was acquired by Motorola.

Lee is married with two children and will relocate to the UK with his family to take up his role with the Symbian Foundation.

Director, Environment, Devices, Nokia

Mitti heads the team driving environmental initiatives within Nokia's Devices business. Her team drives environmental projects across all of Nokia's products.

Joining Nokia in 2004 Mitti held positions within Nokia's Corporate Strategy, focusing on Technology Strategy and its Marketing. Prior to this Mitti worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, focusing on projects in telecommunications, banking & insurance, marketing, retail, and media.

Mitti holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master's degree in Social Sciences and Media Studies from Helsinki University. She has also studied graphic design and media at the University of Industrial Arts in Helsinki (UIAH).

David Rivas

Vice President, Technology Management

David Rivas is Vice President of Product and Technology Management for S60 Software in Nokia's Device business. In this role David drives the competitiveness of S60 software which powers the most advanced and profitable Nokia devices, with organizational responsibilities for product management, strategy, business development, partner management, architecture management, standards and Open Source Software, and innovation management. Recently, David lead the activity within Nokia that resulted in the formation of the Symbian Foundation with 9 of the most important organizations in the mobile industry. David joined Nokia in August 2007 as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Software Platforms.

Prior to joining Nokia, David has held various management and technical positions including CTO of startup a la Mobile, as well as spending almost 12 years at Sun Microsystems. When David left Sun he was CTO of the software client services business. In that role David worked closely with the wireless industry to advance next-generation mobile data services. His many achievements in this arena include, as part of the original Java ME team, driving adoption of Java ME into over 1Billion devices, the acquisition of Pixo and initiatives to help customers such as Vodafone define their mobile data services systems architecture. He also managed advanced client platform technology development and designed some of the original Java multimedia technologies, including for TV and next generation DVD products such as Blue-Ray and DVB-MHP.

Earlier in his career, David was a sound recording engineer with credits in the music, television and film industries. He holds master and bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
